Knowledge Diffusion and Sense-making as Key Knowledge Processes
نویسندگان
چکیده
Knowledge Management is considered to be important for organisational success in the context of the information society, where it is knowledge workers that are supposedly the sources of new value creation. The literature is mixed on exactly what constitutes knowledge management and there are various perspectives of what the important issues are. These range from technological perspectives that focus on the information technology systems, Internet, intranets, web based knowledge portals and so on, to softer perspectives related to organisational learning. Other approaches may be classified under the concept of sense-making. This paper attempts to bring in a novel perspective by drawing on other knowledge domains such as complexity theory and network theory, to illustrate how they may be applied to knowledge management. It presents ideas towards a tentative framework for effective organisational knowledge processes, with a primary focus on knowledge diffusion and sense-making as key knowledge processes for organisational innovation.
